Tracey (TJ) Farrington

From North America to Africa… from being recognized by her peers as being one of the best photographers in Canada, Tracey (TJ) Farrington’s career has spanned the globe. The multiple award-winning photographer has been in business since 2000, and joined the professional photographers in 2004. In 2008 she was awarded “Photographic Artist of the Year” by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) and been a Finalist in 2012 & 2019.
Between 2007 – 2017 Tracey has had prints on loan collection in Canada. Only 40 prints are selected to be archived each year in loan collection to go on to represent Canada in International competitions. This is a true testament to Tracey’s passion for her art.
Tracey is recognized as an International Judge and has earned her Masters of Photographic Arts, MPA, four times over, as well as her Fellowship for British (F/PPOC-BC), Canada (F/CAPA) and England (F/SWPP). She earned her Service in Photographic Arts (SPA), has been named the BC Photographer of the Year twice, National Portrait Artists of the Year, and has won the Kodak Gallery Award, Nikon Excellent Award and numerous Judge’s Choice awards.
As Tracey believes in giving back to the community in which she is so highly sought-after, her volunteer efforts range from speaking to school children to paying her own way to Rwanda to document the plight of orphans. She also donates her time to Cops for Cancer, Canadian Blood Services and Hospice Foundation, to name a few.
Tracey is currently expanding her craft as a digital artist and exploring mixed media, and alternative print processes to further explore textures and dimensions in her work.
Photography is so much more than just a business for Tracey. It’s a way for her to create new opportunities, whether it’s setting her sights on giving her time and energy to those less fortunate, or an award not yet won. In her own words, “if opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door”.
